If, like me, you want to get your hands on a 2011 JCW and waiting for the MINIUSA website to be updated with the 2011 builder, so you can see the various colors with the red roof, you’re in luck. I was forwarded this image from one of my twitter followers and he will also order a 2011 MINI with MINI Connected… which we will have to wait till November to order.
So here’s a nice idea of what the various MINI JCW will look like with the chili red roof and also with the JCW aero kit. Below is one more live picture of the black JCW with chili red roof and the JCW aero kit package… looks awesome. Hopefully the 2011 MINI USA builder will go online this week…. Motor On!
MINI Connected was on hold and now it isn’t…. well kind of. You can order it now, but you have to wait a bit longer to get your car with it….december to be exact. So if you order your MINI now with MINI connected, you won’t get your MINI until the beginning of 2011. I waited this long to order my MINI, so what’s a few more months… right? If all goes well I should order my MINI next week and will be built in december. Merry Christmas to me
I also talked about this on my new episode of my nxtMINI podcast. Check it out in iTunes or here. Motor On!
The above pictured 2011 MINI Cooper JCW could potentially be my next MINI. I actually went this week to my MINI dealer to place an order on it, but I was told that I can order it, but if I want to order MINI Connected I have to wait to order it, because MINI has put the MINI Connected on hold. I wasn’t told why, but I can speculate on why, but I won’t. I wasn’t even told when it will be available to order, so I’ll just have to wait patiently a bit longer. I’ve waiting this long to order, so what’s a few more days or weeks. As soon as I know more, I’ll post on here and I’ll talk about it on my nxtMINI podcast. Don’t forget to check out episode 9 of nxtMINI podcast that was posted today,we talk about MINI Connected being on hold. Motor On!
2011 MINI Cooper JCW
2011 MINI Cooper JCW has some changes, mostly cosmetic on the outside and inside. This JCW as shown in the above picture could potentially be my next MINI. I’ll be building one online as soon as MINIUSA updates their website to build a 2011 MINI. I love the color combination black with chili red roof. From the press release, it seems that the red roof will be available across all colors in the JCW line only. Not sure how it will look on any other color, but I’ll be playing around with that when the time comes.
Another thing I’m looking forward to having in the MINI is MINI connect. This will integrate the Apple iPhone in to the system and you’ll be able to control your phone from the screen.. how cool is that. Recently in Michigan a texting while driving ban went in to effect and it’s possible that if you really have to text someone, the system will help you do that and read the message to you. Once I know more on that and any other MINI info I’ll post it here and on nxtMINI.com If you happen to be in Michigan while reading this, go to www.michiganmini.org and check out some MINI events that are happening in the state. Motor City MINI will be holding an event on July 29, more info to come soon. So keep that date open! Speaking of Motor City MINI, the JCW WC50 has finally arrived there and it’s not spoken for yet! So go down there to see this beauty in person. I’ll be taking some pictures of it as soon as they have it detailed. Till then, Motor On!

MINI JCW WC50 officialy coming to US
Here’s the official press release by MINI about the MINI John Cooper Works World Championship 50 special edition (JCW WC50) that’s coming to the US. Only 50 are being shipped and motorigfile reported that all 50 have been spoken for. It’s a great looking car and congrats to all 50 people that bought them! Motor On!
MINI Confirms the John Cooper Works World Championship 50 Edition Will be Sold in the U.S.
Woodcliff Lake, NJ – April 14, 2010… In response to high dealer demand, MINI USA will offer a limited number of the MINI John Cooper Works World Championship 50 special edition vehicles in the US. 50 of the hand-built vehicles will be delivered to US dealers, beginning late spring / early summer.
The special edition model was first shown to the public during the 2009 MINI United Festival in Silverstone, England. The worldwide production run has been confirmed for just 250 vehicles.
Inspired and influenced by John Cooper’s son, Mike Cooper, the limited MINI special edition is a tribute to both the birth of the brand and John Cooper’s first Formula One title victory 50 years ago. Both were revolutionary and triumphant: in the summer of 1959 Alec Issigonis presented his concept for an all-new small car, with its transverse-mounted front four-cylinder engine, and space for four occupants plus luggage. That same year, sports car constructor John Cooper won his first Formula One World Championship title with Jack Brabham at the wheel.
Based on a MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop, the World Championship 50 vehicle is painted a special color called Connaught Green, harking back to the famous color of British race cars of the 1950s and 60s era. It is combined with the roof and bonnet stripes in Pepper White. The vehicle is then equipped with the John Cooper Works Aero Kit, gloss black versions of the 17” Challenge spoke wheels, custom numbered side scuttles, a unique Championship Red Lounge Leather interior and carbon fiber accents throughout. It also features special floormats with red stitching that matches the red stitching found on the shifter and parking brake boots. John Cooper Works’ signature adorns a special plaque that is affixed to the instrument panel trim.
MSRP for the MINI John Cooper Works World Champion 50 Edition will be $39,600; Destination and Handling costs are $700, for a total cost of $40,300.
